Trainings
Adding Value Every Day
Leadership isn’t taught once. It’s developed across contexts: in a room with your peers, on the job with a partner organization, through a mentor who has walked the path, or at a General Assembly where an expert breaks down what you need next. JCI Aso trains across all four.
Partners Training
When organizations partner with JCI Aso, they gain access to our training capacity. We design and deliver customized programmes for partner organizations and their teams, built around the competencies they need most. In January 2026, we ran a two-day capacity development programme for 28 staff at Lazer Solutions, covering branding, internal communication, and marketing, facilitated by JCIN Ambassadors Shofu Ajayi and Joshua Oghorialu. The September 2025 Partners’ Appreciation Training, themed Empowering Our Partners for Greater Impact, brought together sessions on transformational leadership in a disruptive economy, corporate sustainability and ESG readiness, customer experience strategy, and the impact of emerging technologies. In October 2024, we ran a two-day capacity-building training for JCI Aso partners covering leadership and strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution, digital transformation and innovation, and marketing and brand strategy.
If your organization is looking to upskill teams in leadership, communication, strategy, or digital competencies, reach out. We build the programme around what you need.
In-House General Assembly Training
Every JCI Aso General Assembly includes a training session led by an expert or high-level stakeholder. These are not generic talks. They are structured skill-building sessions designed to equip members with immediately applicable capabilities. Past sessions have covered parliamentary procedure, financial literacy, project management, public speaking, and strategic planning, among others. The trainers are practitioners, senior public servants, JCI Senators, and subject-matter experts who understand what young leaders in Abuja are navigating.
Members leave every GA with at least one new tool. That is the standard.
Quarterly Skills Development Series
The Membership Development Series is where JCI Aso invests in its active members’ professional and leadership growth. It runs as a structured multi-part programme across the year, with certificates awarded on completion. Members tell us which skills they need most, and we build the curriculum around that feedback. The 2026 series, MDS 5.0, was shaped by a member-wide survey; the first edition, MDS 5.1, ran in April on AI, Communication and Productivity, covering AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, professional communication, productivity tools, ethics, and a live simulation session. The 2025 edition partnered with three sister chapters and opened a pathway into Toastmasters International for members who wanted to continue.
Open to members, friends, and guests. Register for the next session, or sponsor a skills track if you want to back member development at scale.
Skills Development for Intending Members
Before you join JCI Aso, we train you. Prospective members go through a structured orientation and mentorship programme designed to introduce JCI’s values, clarify what membership means, and kickstart their leadership development journey. The sessions cover JCI’s history and mission, integration procedures, opportunities for service and growth within the chapter, and parliamentary procedure. By the time induction happens, new members already understand what they are stepping into and how to move within the organization.
This is not an information dump. It is the first stage of leadership development, and it begins before the gavel falls.
